The Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) to Seattle (SEA) route connects two of the nation's most vital airline hubs, linking American Airlines' largest fortress hub in North Texas to Alaska Airlines' hometown in the Pacific Northwest. If you are planning to fly to Seattle to attend a technology conference, take a cruise to Alaska, or enjoy mountain climbing and coastal activities in the state of Washington, then there is no shortage of non-stop flights on the DFW to SEA route, offering more than 15 non-stop flights daily between these two cities. The airports are around 1,670 air miles apart, and the nonstop travel time is anywhere from 4 hours to 4 hours and 30 minutes, far less than the 30+ hours the drive would take.

Since it’s a hub-to-hub flight operated by two dominant airlines having a strong presence at both ends, it’s possible to save money when buying a ticket if you know how to choose.

The seasonal pricing for the journey is highly influenced by the Alaska cruise season, summer travel of the Pacific Northwest, and winter season of Texas.
Prices remain high until the first week of January because of holiday travel and drop to some of the lowest prices of the year thereafter. The wet and cold winters of Seattle deter leisure travelers, making this an ideal period for budget-conscious travelers.
Pricing remains reasonably low with only a slight increase in early March during spring break due to planning of vacations in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska during summer. It is one of the cheaper times to travel.
A steady rise in pricing is observed due to the Alaska cruise season approaching. Prices begin to rise sharply in late May as the cruise and outdoor season kicks off.
The peak season for this route. Due to high demand for cruises to Alaska that go through Seattle, plus heavy tourism from the Pacific Northwest and continuing business travelers from Texas, airfares reach the highest level of the year, especially in July.
One of the best times to book this route. The cruise season ends in the first weeks of September; fewer tourists are traveling, and airfares are much lower, but the weather in Seattle stays nice until the end of October.
Airfares drop to one of the lowest levels of the year at the beginning of November and skyrocket at the end of the month, specifically during the Thanksgiving week when many travelers travel from Texas to the Pacific Northwest for the holidays.
Airfares remain quite high due to holidays and additional corporate travelers from the two hub cities. Bookings in December are highly recommended to be made 7+ weeks in advance.
